Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Maharashtra today regarding the new airport project in Purandar. The Minister of Industries, Uday Samant, has announced that land acquisition for the airport will kick off soon through the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Looks like things are finally moving forward on this long-awaited project!
Apparently, there was some opposition to the land acquisition previously, but it seems like those issues are being ironed out. Minister Samant is set to meet with the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, to discuss the next steps in getting this airport up and running.
The Purandar Airport Project is a big deal for the development of Maharashtra and Pune, according to Minister Samant. The airport will cover a whopping 2,832 hectares and has already received approval from the Ministry of Defence. With the nearest railway station just a short drive away, this airport is poised to make travel a whole lot easier for everyone in Pune.
Despite some setbacks in the past, it looks like the airport construction will finally begin in 2024. The whole project is expected to be completed within the next three to four years. Exciting times ahead for Pune, for sure!
