Hey there, Pune peeps! The Purushottam Karandak competition is back in action, and things are heating up at Bharat Natya Mandir in Sadashiv Peth. Dr DY Patil B-School set the stage on fire with their one-act play ‘Bhridi’. And let me tell you, the energy was off the charts!

This year is extra special as it marks the birth centenary of the tournament’s founder, Rajabhau Natu. The competition is in its 59th year, and the stakes are higher than ever. The examiners for the preliminary round are keeping a close eye on the talent, with Manjusha Joshi, Gopal Joshi, and Abhijit Makashir leading the charge.

Day one saw some top-notch performances, with PDEA’s College of Engineering, Manjari(Bk.) bringing the house down with ‘Aata Vajav’, and Pune Vidhyarthi Griha’s College of Engineering and Technology impressing the crowd with ‘Bijagari’. A total of 51 one-act plays are set to grace the stage from 16th to 30th August, so mark your calendars!

COEP wowed the audience with ‘Jeevan Sathe Underground’, Zeal College of Engineering and Research will have you on the edge of your seat with ‘Parki?’, and P.E.S. Modern College of Engineering is all set to tug at your heartstrings with ‘Vimochanam’. The final round is just around the corner on 21st and 22nd September, so stay tuned for the nail-biting finale.

And don’t forget to save the date for the prize distribution ceremony for the preliminary round on 28th September. It’s going to be a celebration you won’t want to miss!
