It seems like Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is in hot water again, this time over his comments about Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. A criminal complaint has been filed against him, and the case is set to be heard in a special ‘MP MLA’ court on 4th October. The case will be presided over by First Class Magistrate Amol Shinde, after a High Court order to fast-track cases involving politicians.

The complaint was lodged by Satyaki Savarkar, the grandson of Veer Savarkar, and it revolves around a defamation suit stemming from Gandhi’s speech in London. Gandhi has been summoned to appear in court and defend himself against the allegations.

This special court, established for hearing cases involving MPs and MLAs, was set up following a directive from Chief District Judge Mahendra Mahajan. The aim is to ensure that cases involving lawmakers are dealt with promptly, in line with a Supreme Court ruling.

It will be interesting to see how this case unfolds and what the outcome will be for Rahul Gandhi. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
