Hey there, Pune peeps! Guess what happened during Wildlife Week celebrations? A rare Indian pangolin was rescued and released back into the wild by the Wildlife Rescue Team of Maval. How cool is that?
So, this little pangolin wandered into a house in Shiwali village, Maval Taluka. Luckily, founder Nilesh Garade got a call and sprang into action. He called up the Vadgaon Forest Department, and they sent Forester Daya Dome and forest guard Amir Sayyed to the scene.
The Wildlife Rescue Team, led by president Anil Andre, along with members Jigar Solanki, Shatrughna Rasankar, Santosh Dahibhate, Rohit Pawar, Nilesh Thakar, Adesh Mutha, and Nikhil Sane, arrived to help out. The village sarpanch and locals also pitched in.
Luckily, the pangolin was in good health, with no injuries. So, the team decided to release it into a safe spot away from humans. With the Vadgaon Forest Department overseeing things, the pangolin was safely released back into the wild.
Kudos to the Wildlife Rescue Team for their quick response and teamwork in saving this endangered mammal. Let’s keep up the good work in protecting our wildlife, Pune!
