- A wild party near the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune has left residents in nearby areas sleepless and frustrated. The party, which featured loud music and went on till the early hours of the morning, caused disturbance up to 3-4 kilometers away.
- Despite numerous complaints, the police were slow to act due to alleged involvement of influential individuals. However, after a group of over 100 citizens gathered at the Bavdhan Police Station demanding action, the police have now taken steps against the organizers and performers, including Shankar Mahadevan and his son Shivam.
- Officials at the Baner police station have confirmed that action for sound pollution has been initiated and statements have been recorded. A complaint has been registered under the relevant sections of The Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules of 2000.
- The Bavdhan Citizens Forum has also called for strict action against those responsible for the disturbance. With the police now involved, the outcome of this case is eagerly awaited by the residents affected by the late-night party.
