Residents in Dhanori have been facing a severe water shortage for the past five months, with complaints about low water pressure and erratic supply on the rise. The primary cause of the irregular supply has been attributed to frequent power outages at the Bhama Askhed pumping station, according to a water department official. Despite assurances that steps are being taken to address the issue, locals remain frustrated.

Former corporator Anil Tingre expressed his concern over the collapsing water distribution system in Dhanori, noting that while neighboring areas receive a regular supply, Dhanori is struggling daily. With no improvement despite numerous complaints, Tingre stated that residents may have no choice but to protest against the negligence.

Dependent on water from the Bhama Askhed project, Dhanori, along with Lohegaon, Kharadi, and Viman Nagar, is only receiving approximately half of the required 12-15 MLD. This shortfall has disrupted daily routines and left residents dissatisfied with the lack of action taken by authorities.

Residents have issued a warning that they will stage a protest if the situation does not improve within a week. Senior engineer Shubham Ghatkar from the Bundgarden water department acknowledged the challenges and assured that efforts are being made to resolve the power issues at the Bhama Askhed pumping station promptly.
