Residents of Kalyani Nagar in Pune are up in arms over the persistent noise pollution caused by events at the Westin Hotel in Koregaon Park Annexe. The peaceful neighborhood has been disrupted for over two years by loud music from open-air events at the hotel, with no action taken despite repeated complaints.

The final straw came on December 3, 2024, when residents were once again subjected to excessive noise levels from an event at the hotel. Decibel readings in the area reached a staggering 59 decibels, well above the legal limits. Frustrated residents, such as Haresh Bharwani and Monica S., have voiced their concerns about the ongoing disturbances.

Despite formal complaints to the hotel management and local authorities, including the Mundhwa Police Station, the issue remains unresolved. Residents are now demanding immediate action, including the enforcement of noise pollution laws, strict penalties for offenders like the Westin Hotel, and mandatory soundproofing for venues near residential areas.

With no response from the hotel management so far, the residents have turned to the media to highlight their plight. They emphasize that this is not just about inconvenience but a violation of their right to peace and well-being. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
