As summer approaches in Lohgaon and Wadgaonsheri, residents are facing water supply challenges that have prompted calls for improvement from the civic administration. Despite infrastructure developments, many areas are still experiencing low water pressure and irregular distribution, with residents pointing to aging pipelines as a major issue.
In Lohgaon, residents are frustrated with the slow progress of pipeline replacement, citing old, rusted, and leaking pipes as the cause of low water pressure. Some residents question why the Bhama Askhed project has not resolved the water supply issues in the area and are calling for area-specific solutions to be implemented.
In Wadgaonsheri, inconsistent water supply has led to a reliance on water tankers by housing societies to meet daily needs. Activists are calling for better oversight to ensure all areas receive an adequate supply of water without the need for private tankers.
In response to mounting complaints, MLA Bapu Pathare recently met with PMC officials to address the issue. He has directed the water supply department to prioritize the completion of pending distribution line projects and has warned of strict action if the scheduled water release timetable is not followed.
PMC officials have confirmed that replacement of old pipelines in Lohgaon is underway, with distribution line work in certain areas expected to be completed by May. Residents are hopeful that these upgrades will bring relief and resolve the persistent water supply issues in their neighborhoods as summer demand increases.
