Frustrated residents in Mohamadwadi and Undri areas of Pune took to the streets to demand better civic amenities from the Pune Municipal Corporation. Despite being part of the PMC for several years, locals claim that essential infrastructure like water supply, drainage, and roads are still lacking.

During a protest at Nyati Serenity Enclave in Undri, residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of basic services and recreational spaces in their neighborhoods. They argue that despite paying high property taxes, they have seen little improvement in their living conditions.

One protester mentioned, “We’ve been paying hefty property taxes, but in return, we’re getting little to no improvement in our living conditions. It’s unfair.”

Another resident added, “When Undri was merged into the PMC, we expected some progress in terms of infrastructure, but there’s been little to no difference. It feels like we’re being ignored.”

The protesters also called for a reduction in property taxes until the promised improvements are made, stating that the current conditions do not justify the high tax rates they are being charged.

The demonstration aimed to push the PMC to take immediate action in addressing the concerns of these communities, particularly in improving basic infrastructure that has been neglected for years. Residents are hopeful that their voices will be heard and that positive changes will be made in their neighborhoods soon.
