Residents like Uddhav Galande have called for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to take immediate action to remove these bus stops, which they see as serving no purpose after the BRTS was scrapped. However, the bus stops continue to generate revenue for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) through advertising.
The PMC has acknowledged the challenge in removing these structures without PMPML’s consent and is currently in discussions with the transit agency to address the community’s concerns. The unresolved status of these bus stops highlights the broader issue of infrastructure governance and public utility in Pune.
