Residents of Vadgaonsheri in Pune came together for an inspection tour and interactive session led by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale and Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil. The meeting, attended by key figures including PMC Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale, MLA Sunil Tingre, and Additional CP Manoj Patil, addressed critical concerns raised by Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN) and residents.

Some of the key concerns raised included the opposition to the conversion of residential spaces into commercial establishments like pubs and bars, calls for the rollback of commercial establishment timings to minimize disturbances, concerns about women’s safety around pubs and bars, illegal parking issues, traffic rule violations, last-mile connectivity and parking near metro stations, and congestion during peak hours.

Residents from Viman Nagar, Kharadi, and Vadgaonsheri also highlighted issues such as water clogging and drainage problems, discrepancies in property tax and illegal conversions of properties, public nuisance and obscenity near restaurants, and the increasing stray dog population causing safety concerns.

In response to these concerns, the PMC assured residents of considering a proposal for a new shelter home for stray dogs to manage the population effectively. MLA Sunil Tingre also assured residents of following up on their individual concerns. Dr. Bhosale and Add CP Patil acknowledged the issues and promised immediate steps to address them, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in finding solutions.

The session concluded with officials pledging to not only resolve existing issues but also work proactively to prevent future problems, ensuring a better quality of life for the residents of Vadgaonsheri.
