Hey there, Pune peeps! Have you heard about the recent scandal involving sub-registrars and clerks in our city? Well, it turns out that forty-four of them have been caught red-handed registering fake non-agricultural permits and Gunthewari certificates. Yikes!

But wait, there’s more. These individuals have already been reinstated, but the investigations are far from over. According to Maharashtra Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, further action will be taken based on inspection reports from PMC, PCMC, and PMRDA. Looks like the authorities are not taking this lightly.

The fake registrations mainly took place at the Sub-Registrar Office in Aundh, where officials managed to register a whopping 10,000 fake purchase documents across Maharashtra. Talk about a massive scam! While some of the culprits were suspended or transferred, a few of them were back on duty in no time. The documents in question have been sent to various agencies for verification, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens next.

Vikhe Patil made it clear that these fraudulent activities are a serious offense under the Indian Registration Act of 1908. In fact, 20 cases have already been filed in different police stations in connection with this case. The authorities are cracking down on unauthorized constructions, so if your property doesn’t have a RERA number, you might want to double-check its legitimacy.

It’s a wild ride out there, folks. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
