The Robotex India Championship 2024 recently took place in Pune, showcasing the technological skills of school and college students from various states. Participants displayed their robotics and AI prototypes in competitions such as Line Follower, Maze Solver, and Robo Sumo.

The event, held at the World Peace Dome, MIT-ADT University, saw around two thousand student participants, including those from Zilla Parishad and Municipal Corporation schools in rural areas. The competition was graced by notable personalities such as Sunita Venkat, Anjali Byce, Pushpendra Kumar, and Ali Khan.

Director Payal Rajpal highlighted that 60 percent of the students were from government schools, aiming to provide them with a platform to showcase their STEM knowledge. Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to participate in the Robotex International Championship 2024 in Estonia.

Anjali Byce, Group Chief Human Resource Officer of Sterlite Technologies Limited, emphasized the importance of providing STEM education to students and bridging the digital divide. Pinky Rajpal of FICCI FLO Pune Chapter expressed happiness over the participation of over 2000 students from across the country.

Ali Khan, Director of IT Governance at ZS India, mentioned their support for the initiative over the past four years, focusing on gender-inclusive technology education. Saroj Kumar Aapto, Vice President of the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India, highlighted the importance of competitions like Robotex India Championship in nurturing students’ scientific skills.

Prakash Kumar Das from WNS Company shared the company’s efforts to provide students with opportunities in the STEM field through the competition. So far, six lakh students have benefited from these initiatives.
