The Robotex India Championship 2024, held at the World Peace Dome, MIT-ADT University in Pune, was a grand event showcasing cutting-edge technology and student innovation. With over 2000 students participating, including those from rural Zilla Parishad and Municipal Corporation schools in Maharashtra, the competition was a melting pot of talent.

The event featured a wide array of robotics and AI prototypes, such as a waste segregation robot, earthquake detection robot, fire-fighting robot, and puzzle-solving robot. Students showcased their skills in categories like Line Follower, Maze Solver, Robo Sumo, Entrepreneurship, and Girls Fire Fighting.

Prominent figures like Sunita Venkat, Anjali Byce, Pushpendra Kumar, and Ali Khan graced the event, emphasizing the importance of providing a platform for students to showcase their STEM skills. Payal Rajpal, Director of Robotex India, highlighted the impact of the competition on students from government schools, with winners advancing to the international championship in Estonia.

Anjali Byce, representing the title sponsor Sterlite Technologies Limited, reiterated their commitment to bridging the digital divide through STEM education initiatives. Pinky Rajpal, FICCI FLO Pune Chapter Chair, commended the participation of over 2000 students and expressed optimism about their future contributions to science and technology.

Ali Khan from ZS India praised the competition for promoting gender inclusivity and equal access to technology education, while Saroj Kumar Aapto from the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India emphasized the importance of such competitions in enhancing students’ scientific skills and providing international exposure.

Prakash Kumar Das from WNS Company highlighted their role in providing STEM opportunities, benefitting over six lakh students through various programs. The Robotex India Championship 2024 successfully showcased the innovative spirit of Indian students and underscored the significance of STEM education in shaping the future.
