Hey folks, big news coming out of Mahabaleshwar! The Satara district administration has taken some serious action by sealing the MPG Club in the Malkam Peth area. Why, you ask? Well, turns out the club is owned by the family members of the teenager who was allegedly involved in that Porsche crash in Pune. And if that wasn’t enough, the excise department had already sealed the club’s bar before this latest development.

But wait, there’s more. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde gave the green light to Satara Collector Jitendra Dudi to bulldoze the MPG Club if it’s found to be illegally constructed. This directive came after RTI activist Abhaysingh Havaldar raised concerns that the club was built on government land leased to the Parsi Gymkhana Club. And who’s running this club, you ask? Well, it’s a trust whose members include the parents and grandparents of the teenager in question.

Bright and early on Saturday morning, a team of officials led by Sub-Divisional Officer Rajendra Kumar Jadhav swooped in and raided the club. They didn’t waste any time, quickly getting the staff to vacate rooms occupied by tourists. By the afternoon, they had sealed off 32 rooms, eight cottages, a spa, gym, restaurant, kitchen, reception room, staff room, and the storeroom. Talk about a thorough operation! Jadhav made it clear that the property was being illegally used for commercial purposes, and a detailed report of the action will be sent to the district collector.

Activist Abhaysingh Havaldar didn’t hold back in his response to the administration’s actions, emphasizing that the Chief Minister had promised to bulldoze the property if it was found to be illegal. And now that it’s been proven, he’s calling for them to follow through on that promise.

Looks like there’s some drama unfolding in Mahabaleshwar, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how this story develops. Stay tuned for more updates!
