Pune residents in the area around Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue and near Hotel Grand on Cantonment-MG Road are facing a major sewage problem that has left them feeling frustrated and helpless. The main drainage line has burst, leading to sewage overflowing onto the road and causing a foul smell to permeate the area.

Local business owner Bhojraj Belani, who owns Hotel Grand, has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for their lack of action in addressing the issue. Despite multiple complaints and notices sent to the PMC over the past few weeks, no concrete steps have been taken to fix the problem.

Belani emphasized the impact the sewage leakage has had on public health, noting that the constant foul odour has forced him to wear a mask while working at his hotel. He also mentioned that a jetting machine was brought in to clear the blocked pipes, but it was unsuccessful in resolving the issue.

Residents in the area have expressed their frustration with the PMC, accusing them of only doing temporary fixes and not addressing the root cause of the problem. The lack of response from the authorities has left them feeling neglected and unheard.

As the situation continues to worsen, residents and business owners are calling for urgent action from the PMC to resolve the sewage issue and restore normalcy in the area.
