Pune is heating up as the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) gears up for the upcoming State Assembly polls. With the Lok Sabha elections showing positive results for the constituents, all political parties are getting ready for the next big challenge. However, a cold war seems to be brewing between the Shiv Sena and the NCP in the city.

Both parties are vying for six seats each in Pune. The NCP recently held a meeting in the city where they expressed their desire to contest from Shivajinagar, Parvati, Hadapsar, Vadgaon Sheri, Khadakwasla, and Pune Cantonment assembly segments. NCP City Unit President Prashant Jagtap seemed confident that their candidates would secure significant victories in these areas.

On the other hand, the Shiv Sena wasted no time in staking their claim on six seats as well. The party’s City Unit President, Sanjay More, announced their intentions to field candidates from Parvati, Vadgaon Sheri, Kothrud, Pune Cantonment, Hadapsar, and Kasba Peth assembly seats. With four Shiv Sena MLAs already elected from Pune, they believe they deserve these seats.

The tug-of-war between the two parties within the MVA is highlighting the internal tensions even before the official announcement of the Assembly polls. Stay tuned as the political drama unfolds in Pune.
