Hey there, folks! Looks like drink-driving cases are on the rise once again in Pune, with a recent incident involving a Shivshahi bus driver making headlines. The driver in question, Mahesh Shivaji Pund, was found to be under the influence when his bus collided with a car in a busy area.

The incident, which took place at Golibar Maidan Chowk, led to a heated confrontation between Pund and the car driver, Ram Madhukar Chite. Chite wasted no time in filing a complaint with the Wanowrie Police Station, leading to Pund’s arrest.

Pund, a 32-year-old resident of Ahmednagar, works as a bus driver at the Pimpri Chinchwad bus depot of the MSRTC. He had been ferrying 13 passengers from Swargate Depot when the collision occurred. Following the incident, Pund was taken to Sassoon General Hospital for a medical test, which confirmed his intoxication.

The Wanowrie Police Station has registered a case against Pund for driving under the influence and endangering the lives of passengers and other road users. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, so stay tuned for more updates.

Let’s all remember to stay safe on the roads and never drink and drive. It’s just not worth the risk!
