Pune, the bustling city known for its vibrant culture and historical landmarks, was recently in the news for a rather unfortunate incident involving a reckless bus driver. The Wanwadi police have arrested the driver of the Shivshahi bus for ramming into a four-wheeler car while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The incident, which took place at the Golibar Maidan signal, involved the bus driver Mahesh Shivaji Pund and the plaintiff Ram Madhukar Chite, who works as a conductor at the Pimpri-Chinchwad bus depot. The plaintiff, who was on his way to Hyderabad with the driver and a trainee conductor, noticed that the driver was driving erratically and suspected him of being under the influence of alcohol.

A heated argument ensued between the plaintiff and the accused, leading to the police being called in to investigate. The accused was taken to Sassoon Hospital for testing, which confirmed the presence of alcohol in his system. Subsequently, Mahesh Pund was arrested and booked for endangering the lives of passengers by disregarding traffic rules and driving while intoxicated.
