Labor exploitation in Ranjangaon MIDC has recently been brought to light, with over 50 workers from different states reportedly being held against their will and forced to work without pay. The accused, including Anand Digambar Waghalkar, Sunil Digambar Waghalkar, Prashant Shravan Salve, and Akshay Kale, allegedly promised fair wages to lure in workers but failed to deliver on their promises.

The workers were allegedly confined in a room and forced to work, with some being beaten when they requested their wages or needed money for medical treatment. Supervisor Akshay Kale and food provider Prashant Salve are among those accused of physically abusing the workers.

The exploitation was uncovered when a worker managed to escape and alert the authorities. Police Inspector Mahadev Waghmode and his team acted swiftly to rescue the workers from their confinement in Dhoksangvi. The accused have been charged with various offenses, including assault, illegal confinement, and threats against the workers.

The investigation is ongoing, led by Sub-Inspector Avinash Thorat, and the accused have been remanded to police custody until further notice. This case sheds light on the ongoing issue of labor exploitation and the need for stricter regulations to protect vulnerable workers.
