Hinjawadi, 23rd August 2024: In a late-night operation, six gamblers were apprehended by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate in Pune’s Hinjawadi area. The group was caught engaging in a game of ‘Teen Patti’ at the Hotel Western Park Lodging And Restro Bar on Sus Road, where items worth approximately ₹8.5 lakh were seized.
The individuals taken into custody were identified as Ravindra Gundya Rathod, Kumar Bapu Khaladkar, Satyam Kemiya Rathod, Rukesh Lokya Meghawat, Lokesh Waliya Meghawat, and Chandu Bhavsan Khetavat. Police Constable Rajaram Sarate reported the incident to the Hinjawadi Police Station, leading to the prompt action taken by law enforcement.
The raid was prompted by a tip-off from a confidential source, revealing the illegal gambling activity at the hotel. Despite the significant amount of cash involved, the gamblers’ operation was brought to a halt by the Hinjawadi Police, who swiftly intervened and made the arrests.
Interestingly, the accused individuals appeared surprisingly composed and unfazed during the raid, with one of them even smiling for the camera in a viral photo taken at the scene. This unusual reaction has drawn comparisons to the fictional character ‘Joker’ from Batman, known for his calm demeanor in chaotic situations.
