With the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections just around the corner, Pune District is gearing up for a smooth voting process tomorrow. Pune District Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Suhas Diwase has shared that a total of 11,421 ballot units, 8,462 control units, and VVPATs have been distributed across the 21 constituencies in the district.
To ensure a hassle-free election day, specific quantities of polling materials have been allocated to each constituency. For instance, Ambegaon constituency has received 346 ballot units, control units, and VVPATs, while Khed Alandi constituency has been provided with 389 units of each. The distribution pattern varies across the remaining constituencies, with varying numbers of units being distributed accordingly.
In some constituencies where the number of candidates surpasses 16, two ballot units will be utilized for efficient voting. This approach will be implemented in seven constituencies, including Indapur, Baramati, and Chinchwad, among others. On the other hand, the remaining 14 assembly constituencies will utilize a single ballot unit for voting purposes.
The distribution of polling material took place in the morning, with the guidance of Pune District Collector Dr. Diwase. Various arrangements were made at each polling station, with information boards set up for the convenience of the staff collecting the material. Police security was also in place at the distribution centers to ensure a secure process. Additionally, the polling staff received guidance from the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers before being transported to their respective polling stations.
