Hey Pune peeps, some good news for those who dread the traffic at Katraj Chowk! On Wednesday (December 4), the Traffic Police did a stellar job in managing traffic at the chowk, keeping it congestion-free throughout the day. And guess what? A flyover is in the works at the chowk, which is great news for all the commuters passing through that area.
The Traffic Police deployed personnel at a whopping 52 spots to ensure smooth traffic flow. They diverted traffic through alternative routes to make way for the segmental launching work of the flyover. While Tuesday saw some chaos with the traffic diversion, Wednesday was a different story altogether. The cops had everything under control, making sure that commuters faced minimal disruptions.
To ease the traffic situation, heavy vehicles have been banned from entering Katraj Chowk. Instead, they are being diverted through alternative routes like Mantarwadi, Handewadi, and Navale Bridge. Barricades have been set up at various points to redirect heavy vehicles and prevent them from causing jams at the chowk.
It’s good to see the Traffic Police taking proactive steps to manage traffic effectively. They are diverting vehicles, putting up signages for heavy vehicles, manually monitoring traffic to avoid long queues, and even setting up temporary police chowkies at key spots. With 120 police officials and personnel on duty during the day and night, it’s clear that they are committed to ensuring smooth traffic flow in the city.
So next time you pass through Katraj Chowk, give a shoutout to the Traffic Police for their hard work in keeping the traffic moving. Kudos to them for their efforts in making our daily commute a little bit easier!
