Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Nana Peth in Pune – Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar dropped a bombshell yesterday, revealing that gangster Somnath Gaikwad was the man behind the brutal murder of former NCP corporator Vanraj Andekar. The incident went down on September 1 near Andekar’s home, and it’s a real shocker.

Apparently, Gaikwad, who had split from the gang led by Suryakant aka Bandu Andekar, played a major role in funding and organizing the hit on Vanraj. He teamed up with Aniket Dudhbhate, the brains behind the operation, to carry out the assassination. Gaikwad formed his own crew after leaving the Andekar gang, known as the ‘Samarth group,’ based in Ambegaon Pathar. These guys weren’t messing around – they had criminal records and ongoing cases at the local police station.

The motive behind the murder? Revenge. Dudhbhate was out for blood after his buddy Nikhil Akhade was killed the year before. Suryakant Andekar and some others were arrested in connection with Akhade’s murder, but Suryakant got out on bail earlier this year. Gaikwad, who was also involved in a separate case, scored bail in April.

Turns out, the whole thing was sparked by a property dispute involving Vanraj’s sisters, who are married to brothers from the Komkar family in Nana Peth. The Komkars got cozy with Gaikwad, leading to the sinister plot to take out Vanraj over the past month and a half.

The cops have been busy – they’ve nabbed a bunch of people in connection with the murder, including Vanraj’s sister, her husband, and Gaikwad himself. Looks like Prakash and Gaikwad were the masterminds behind the whole operation, directing Dudhbhate and his crew to do the dirty work.

Now, 10 out of the 13 suspects have been formally charged, with Dudhbhate and the others being held until September 12. Three minors were also picked up, and the police are pushing to have them tried as adults. The details of the crime are chilling – the attackers were armed and ready, waiting for their moment to strike.

After the murder, they made a run for it, eventually ending up in Maan village via Tamhini Ghat. It’s a wild story that’s still unfolding, so stay tuned for more updates on this shocking case.
