It was a tough day for passengers booked on SpiceJet’s Pune-Goa flight (SG-185) on Friday when the airline suddenly cancelled the service just before takeoff. The flight was supposed to depart at 12:20 pm but was cancelled at 11 am, leaving travelers in a lurch. One frustrated passenger shared, “I got a call about the cancellation as I was about to enter the airport. When I went to the airline counter, there were many angry passengers demanding answers. The officials could only promise a refund of the fare.”
For another passenger who had planned a weekend trip to Goa, the cancellation meant having to look for alternative flights at high prices. “We had no choice but to check other flights, but the fares were sky-high,” they said. SpiceJet blamed adverse weather conditions in Kolkata for the disruption, stating, “Flight SG-185 from Pune to Goa was cancelled due to unfavorable weather in Kolkata.”
The troubles didn’t stop there as SpiceJet’s Pune-Delhi flight (SG-184) was also affected, with a scheduled departure time of 3:20 pm being delayed by several hours and eventually rescheduled for 11:30 pm. This caused inconvenience to many passengers who were left waiting at the airport.
