The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is gearing up for the financial year 2025-2026 by requesting budget proposals from its academic and administrative departments. With a deadline of November 12, departments are expected to submit their estimates at least two months in advance to ensure smooth financial planning.
Various departments have outlined their plans for the upcoming fiscal year, with the Marathi department looking to introduce new courses and cultural projects to enrich academic offerings. The Psychology department is set to celebrate its 75th anniversary with conferences and new courses aligned with the New Education Policy.
While departments focus on academic growth, student concerns regarding hostel conditions have been raised. Issues such as malfunctioning washing machines, bedbug infestations, and unsanitary mess food have been reported, prompting calls for immediate improvements from the university administration.
As SPPU prepares for the new fiscal year, balancing budgetary allocations with the need to address student concerns will be crucial. The university’s commitment to academic development must be complemented by efforts to enhance student facilities and living conditions for a well-rounded educational experience.
