The state government in Pune has taken a significant step towards the better implementation of welfare schemes for the minority community. They have approved the establishment of a Minority Cell in every district, which will be under the direct control of the District Collector. The District Planning Officer will lead this new cell, aiming to improve the monitoring and execution of various minority welfare initiatives.

In order to streamline the allocation and utilization of funds for different schemes, District Planning Officers and District Minority Officers have been designated as Drawing and Disbursing Officers. This measure is expected to ensure better oversight and management of funds for minority welfare programs.

Furthermore, a directive will soon be issued to enable the direct transfer of meal allowances into the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of minority students residing in government hostels managed by the Minority Development Department. The process for distributing food allowances to eligible beneficiaries is already in progress, with the goal of providing timely and efficient support to those in need.

These initiatives have been put into motion by Milind Shenoy, Deputy Secretary of the Minority Development Department, showcasing a commitment to enhancing the efficiency and transparency of minority welfare programs in the region. This move is a positive development towards ensuring that minority communities receive the necessary support and assistance to thrive and prosper.
