Father’s Day celebrations took a dark turn in Pune as a man was arrested for allegedly burning his 4-year-old daughter with a knife. The accused, identified as Sunil Chauhan, was apprehended by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police after reports of the heinous act came to light.
The incident came to light when the young girl started displaying signs of distress at school, prompting her teacher to investigate further. Upon closer inspection, burn marks were discovered on the child’s hands, leading to the revelation of the abuse she had been subjected to.
It was revealed that the accused, who is the stepfather of the girl, had been inflicting burns on her between the 5th and 14th of June. Both the mother and stepfather work as laborers, which initially made the mother hesitant to report the abuse. However, after the child confided in her teacher, the mother decided to take action and informed the police.
The accused allegedly used a hot knife to burn the child and has been charged with the crime. The young girl has been left deeply traumatized by the ordeal and is receiving support from authorities. The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police are currently investigating the matter further to ensure justice is served.
