Hey there, folks of Lohgaon! Sunil Tingre, the current MLA and NCP candidate for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, had some exciting updates for you all today. He talked about the progress being made on some crucial issues in the Vadgaonsheri Constituency, specifically the pesky water supply problem.
After some serious arm-twisting with the PMC, Tingre managed to secure a whopping 150-crore water supply scheme to tackle the water shortage in Lohgaon. He promised that the project is moving along quickly and that you can expect a permanent solution to the water problem within the next year.
The project will tap into a water quota of 1.5 TMC from the Bhama Askhed Dam, but due to some missing water supply lines, you guys have been dealing with inconsistent water distribution. Tingre didn’t stop there – he also got the PMC to greenlight an additional water supply scheme worth Rs 230 crore for the Lohgaon-Wagholi area, with Rs 150 crore earmarked just for Lohgaon.
The plan includes laying down 250 km of water supply lines to serve a population of 2,32,000 by 2052. And get this – they’ve already laid almost 80 km of these lines, and there are 13 water tanks in the works, with a Rs 56 crore tender already approved. Plus, there’s a massive 20-lakh-litre water tank being built in Dhanori for Rs 3.5 crore.
Tingre assured everyone that once this project wraps up in the next 18 months, the water supply problem affecting 1,12,000 people in Lohgaon will be a thing of the past. So hang in there, Lohgaon, relief is on the way!
