The Swargate rape case has taken a disturbing turn as new details emerge about the accused, Dattatray Gade. Gade was found wearing a police uniform while moving around ST stands, raising concerns about potential additional crimes committed under this disguise.

Police have been able to track Gade’s movements through his mobile phone, linking him to various locations such as Shivajinagar, Swargate, Ahilyanagar, Solapur, and Shirur ST bus stand. Officials suspect that there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The case has now been handed over to the Crime Branch for further investigation.

It has been discovered during the investigation that Gade has connections to a member of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police force, leading to suspicions that he obtained the police uniform through this connection to deceive and target his victims. Authorities are looking into whether Gade committed other crimes while impersonating a police officer.

Gade has a history of criminal activity, including robbing elderly women in Pune Rural and Ahilyanagar, as well as stealing a mobile phone from a commuter at Swargate ST stand last year. Further examination of his past cases reveals a pattern of targeting women.

The most serious offence allegedly occurred on February 25, when Gade threatened a young woman with death and raped her inside a parked Shivshahi bus at the Swargate ST stand. Posing as a bus conductor, he lured the victim into the bus before committing the crime.

Authorities are working diligently to gather evidence against Gade, including collecting his blood samples for DNA testing and seizing the clothes he wore during the crime for forensic examination. The investigation into this case continues to unfold as more details come to light.
