As of August 2, 2024, the road passing through Tamhini Ghat via Pali-Mangaon in the Pune district has been closed to traffic due to impassable conditions. The closure is expected to last until 8:00 AM on August 5, as announced by Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase.

The closure is a result of ongoing widening work on National Highway No. 753 F, which runs from Pune to Male village and continues to the Pune-Raigad district boundary. Heavy rainfall in the area has caused concern, prompting the high alert status for Pune district.

A landslide at chain no. 63/000 on National Highway No. 753 F in the ghat area of Mauje Aadarwadi village has led to one fatality and one injury at a nearby family hotel. Additionally, cracks and deterioration have been observed on the road in the ghat area of Mauje Aadarwadi and Dongarwadi villages.

Repair work is currently underway to address the damage, and traffic is being managed on a one-way basis to ensure safety. Due to the forecast of continued heavy rain, there is a risk of further accidents, prompting the closure of the highway.

The closure of the road through Tamhini Ghat has also impacted ST bus routes, with the Roha-Akkalkot service being diverted via Pali. Other buses traveling to Pune from this route have also been rerouted to accommodate the closure.

With the ongoing repair work and safety concerns, it is advised for travelers to avoid the Tamhini Ghat area until the road reopens on August 5. Stay tuned for further updates on the situation.
