Over 45 waste management professionals from Maharashtra, including technocrats, policymakers, and industry leaders, came together to brainstorm solutions to the waste crisis. From using digital tools to improve waste collection to promoting community awareness about sustainable waste practices, participants worked on practical solutions to tackle the issue.

The event featured insights from international and national experts, discussing topics like data analytics for waste tracking, leveraging social media for waste reduction awareness, and implementing smart technologies for recycling and waste disposal. The workshop resulted in innovative project ideas tailored to local challenges in Pune and Maharashtra.

With a zero-waste ethos, the event aimed to eliminate single-use plastics and thermocol, emphasizing sustainability in waste management practices. Key figures in the field, including the District Collector of Pune and municipal commissioners, were present, fostering collaboration and innovation in waste management solutions.

The Climate Reality Project also highlighted the importance of reducing methane emissions and solid waste to achieve global emission targets by 2030. TechCamp Pune is just the beginning of efforts to address urgent waste management issues in urban settings, paving the way for sustainable solutions across Maharashtra and beyond.
