In a recent development, the Cyber Crime Department of Thane Police has made a significant move by arresting two individuals for posting obscene content about NCP leader Ajit Pawar faction and Maharashtra State Women’s Commission president Rupali Chakankar. This action comes after Chakankar had compiled a list of 32 people who had made derogatory remarks about her on popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

The two suspects, identified as Sunny Parkhe from Gangapur and Jagannath Hate from Chunabhatti, Mumbai, have been charged under various sections of the law, including section 72/2024, section 354 d, 509, and 34, in relation to their inappropriate online behavior.

This is not the first time such action has been taken in similar cases. The Pune Cyber Police had previously registered a case against individuals who were circulating obscene content about Chakankar. The main accused, Vasant Rameshrao Khule, was tracked down to Rahati, Parbhani, where he was arrested and brought in for questioning. Another individual, Pradeep Kanse, was also issued a notice for using inappropriate language against Chakankar on social media.

These arrests serve as a reminder that actions have consequences, and individuals must be mindful of their online behavior. It is crucial to maintain respect and decency in our interactions, both online and offline, to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all.
