Hey guys, did you hear about the woman who managed to escape from police custody in Hadapsar? Dhurpata Ashok Bhosale, a 31-year-old from Nanded, was arrested for stealing jewellery during the Sant Shrestha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Ceremony procession. But get this, she pulled a Houdini and escaped the next day while under the watch of police constable Tarabai Ganpat Khandekar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5), R. Raja, wasn’t too pleased with Khandekar’s negligence and suspended her for failing to keep Bhosale in check. The whole incident went down during the Palkhi Ceremony Procession of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj, where Bhosale was caught red-handed stealing jewellery from the devotees.
Despite efforts to track her down using CCTV footage, Bhosale remains at large. Looks like Khandekar’s oversight has landed her in hot water, with her suspension serving as a reminder to all officers to stay on top of their game. Let’s hope they catch Bhosale soon and bring her to justice!
