Hey Pune peeps, here’s a quick update on the recent accidents that have unfortunately taken place in our city. It’s always important to stay safe on the roads and be aware of your surroundings, so let’s take a look at what happened:
1. On Paud Road, tragedy struck when a senior citizen, 65-year-old Balasaheb Lakshman Tanpure, lost his life in a collision with a speeding two-wheeler. The incident took place in front of Sushrut Surgical Hospital, and despite being rushed to a private hospital, Tanpure succumbed to his injuries. An investigation is underway led by Assistant Police Inspector RR Adagale.
2. In Balewadi, a young pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding dumper. The victim, aged between 35 to 40 years old, has yet to be identified. The driver of the dumper fled the scene, leading to a case being registered at Chaturshringi Police Station. Assistant Police Inspector Dadaraje Pawar is on the case.
3. Near Pimpri Saandas village on Ahmednagar Highway, another pedestrian lost his life in a hit-and-run incident. 53-year-old Ganesh Maruti Waykar was struck by a speeding vehicle while leaving the Jamdar Wasti area. The driver fled, prompting a case to be filed at Lonikand Police Station. Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Ghorpade is working to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
