In a shocking turn of events, the Pune Police have arrested Surendra Kumar Agarwal, the grandfather of the minor accused in the tragic Porsche car crash that claimed the lives of two individuals on May 19. It seems like the entire Agarwal family is in hot water with three generations facing various charges in the case.

Surendra Kumar Agarwal allegedly threatened and confined the family driver, Gangaram Poojari, forcing him to take the blame for the accident in exchange for money. This adds another layer of complexity to an already heartbreaking situation.

Vishal S. Agarwal, the son of Surendra Kumar Agarwal and a prominent Pune realty developer, was previously arrested and sent to police custody. He has now been remanded to a two-week judicial custody.

The prime accused, the minor boy who was driving the speeding Porsche that caused the fatal accident, remains in detention at a juvenile correctional home until June 5.

In response to the tragedy, hundreds of citizens are planning to participate in a silent candlelight vigil near Kalyani Nagar to pay homage to the two victims. The vigil is also intended to protest the lack of action by the administration in curbing late-night activities in residential areas.

As public anger continues to simmer, the Pune Police have suspended two policemen from the Yerawada Police Station for alleged dereliction of duty and other lapses related to the accident. Police Inspector Rahul Jagdale and Assistant Police Inspector Vishwanath Todkar were on duty at the time of the incident.

The entire incident has sparked a nationwide uproar and serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of reckless driving and irresponsible behavior.
