Pune, 22nd February 2025: The buzz at TiECON 2025, the flagship event of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Pune chapter, was all about India’s potential to lead in AI applications. Experts highlighted the country’s AI talent, digital economy, and entrepreneurship spirit as key factors. The two-day conference drew over 700 young entrepreneurs eager to learn and network.

Dr. Mayur Datar, Chief Data Scientist at Flipkart, discussed the rapid evolution of AI in e-commerce, noting the high level of interest and adoption. He emphasized the importance of staying ahead in the GenAI era.

During a conversation with Rahul Chaudhary, Co-Founder of Treebo, Viren Rasquinha, CEO of OGQ and former India Hockey Captain, shared insights from the sporting arena. Rasquinha stressed the lessons learned from defeats and the importance of resilience in both sports and entrepreneurship. Chaudhary likened the risks and challenges in starting a business to those faced by athletes, highlighting the need for perseverance.

Anu Aga, Former Chairperson of Thermax, received the ‘Spirit of TiE Award’ for her contributions to entrepreneurship and innovation. In her acceptance speech, she emphasized the need for social change and value-based education for the underprivileged. TiE Pune President, Ajay Bhagwat, commended Aga’s dedication and highlighted the organization’s mentorship programs for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Kiran Deshpande, Chairperson of TiECON 2025, and Global Trustee of TiE, underscored the importance of nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs through initiatives like TiE University and TiE Women. The event set the stage for fostering innovation and collaboration in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
