Hey Pune residents, get ready for some major traffic changes tomorrow! Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the city, and that means road closures and restrictions will be in effect.
If you’re planning to travel near SP College on Tilak Road, be prepared for road closures between NS Phadke Chowk and Nath P Chowk in Sadashiv Peth. To avoid getting stuck in traffic, take the route under Parvati Flyover via Neelayam Theatre towards Sinhagad Road.
In addition, roads around Baburao Ghule Path, Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, and the Ambil Odha area will also have traffic restrictions. Don’t forget that heavy vehicles will be restricted from entering the city from Monday at midnight until Tuesday at midnight.
To make your commute easier, here are some routes heavy vehicles should avoid: Solapur Road, Nagar Road, Alandi Road, Old Mumbai-Pune Road, Aundh Road, Baner Road, Pashan Road, Paud Road, Karve Road, Sinhagad Road, Satara Road, Saswad Road, Kondhwa’s Khadi Machine Chowk, Hadapsar to Saswad Road, and Lohgaon Road.
For regular vehicles, one-way traffic will be in place between Tilak Chowk and Bhide Bridge Chowk. Remember to turn left at Kakasaheb Gadgil Bridge (Z Bridge) and then right at Bhide Bridge Chowk to reach your destination. And if you’re coming from the Deccan Gymkhana area, use the riverbed road as an alternate route to Kelkar Road.
So, plan your travels accordingly and avoid getting stuck in traffic during the Prime Minister’s visit tomorrow! Stay safe on the roads, Pune!
