Hey there, Pune peeps! Get ready for some marathon madness coming your way on the 14th and 15th of December at Sinhagad Fort. But hold on to your hats, because it’s not just your average run in the park – it’s going to cause some major traffic closures in the area.
District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase is on top of things, making sure everything runs smoothly and safely during the event. With around 400 runners, guides, volunteers, and spectators expected to flock to the area, it’s going to be a busy couple of days.
To avoid any chaos on the roads, the authorities have decided to shut down the Sinhagad Ghat road completely. So if you were planning on cruising through that area, you might want to rethink your route.
Traffic from Haveli Police Station to Golewadi Ghat Road and Khed-Shivapur will be off-limits on the 14th and 15th of December. But don’t worry, there are alternative routes available. You can take the New Katraj Tunnel to Khed Shivapur, and then make your way through Donje-Khadakwasala-Vadgaon Dhairi. Easy peasy!
And if you were thinking of heading from Rajgad Police Station to Sinhagad Fort and Golewadi via Ghat Road, think again. That route will also be closed off, so you’ll need to find another way around.
Dr. Diwase wants to make sure everyone is taken care of, so vehicles heading to Donje village or Golewadi can use the Vadgaon-Dhairi route via Khadakwasla Donje or the Khed Shivapur-Shindevadi route through the New Katraj Tunnel. And don’t worry, essential service vehicles are exempt from these restrictions.
So buckle up, Puneites, it’s going to be a wild ride at Sinhagad Fort!
