Tragedy struck in Pune’s Wagholi area as a six-year-old girl lost her life in a heartbreaking incident. Little Rekha Mukesh Singh Chauhan met with a tragic end after drowning in a water tank in the locality. The culprit behind this unfortunate incident is said to be Ramesh Balaji Munde, a 40-year-old resident of Wagholi.

The young girl’s father, Mukesh Singh Chauhan, was understandably devastated by the loss and lodged a complaint with the Lonikand Police Station. Investigations revealed that Munde, who owns a partially constructed three-story building in Kawade Wasti, had failed to cover the water tank on the premises, leading to the fatal accident.

Rekha was playing near the uncovered tank when the unthinkable happened, and she fell in. Her family frantically searched for her when she didn’t return home, only to find her lifeless body in the tank. Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad visited the site to assess the situation, and it was determined that Munde’s negligence was to blame for the tragedy.

As a result, a case has been registered against him, and Assistant Police Inspector Khatke is currently leading the investigation. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety measures, especially when it comes to young children who are most vulnerable to such accidents. Our hearts go out to the Chauhan family during this difficult time.
