Tragedy struck in Pune as a fire broke out in a girls’ paying guest accommodation, resulting in the death of a 40-year-old security guard. Fortunately, 42 others were able to escape from the five-storied building in the Shanipar area. The Fire Brigade was quick to respond, rescuing the girls from the second floor and bringing the blaze under control.

The incident occurred around 1.30 am, with the rescued girls being shifted to safety. Despite efforts to extinguish the fire, the security guard tragically lost his life in the process. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit, as per Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode.

DCP Sandeep Singh Gill confirmed the victim as the security guard, who unfortunately passed away despite efforts to save him. The authorities are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the fire. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
