Tragedy struck in Vadgaonsheri as two young men lost their lives in a shocking incident during an Eid-e-Milad procession. Abhay Amol Waghmare and Zakaria Bilal Shaikh, both residents of Wadeshwar Nagar, were electrocuted during the event organized by the MIM Boys Group from Vadgaonsheri Bhaji Mandai.

The procession, held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, took a tragic turn when the steel flagpole in Abhay Waghmare’s hand made contact with a high-tension wire, resulting in a fatal electric shock. Zakaria Shaikh, standing nearby, also suffered the same fate. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, both young men were pronounced dead upon arrival.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety measures taken during public events, particularly those involving DJ walls and loud music. Local residents have expressed frustration over the disturbance caused by such processions, calling for action against the use of DJ sound systems without proper precautions.

As the Chandan Nagar Police continue their investigation into the matter, the community mourns the loss of these two promising young lives. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring safety standards are met during public gatherings to prevent such tragedies from reoccurring.
