Tragedy struck in Kondhwa, Pune as a 32-year-old woman lost her life due to electrocution while walking through a waterlogged street. Kalpana Ramesh Vishwakarma, a domestic worker, was on her way home from work when the incident occurred.

The Kondhwa police revealed that the electrical meters of an old building in the area were submerged in water, causing exposed wires to electrify the water. Eyewitnesses reported that Kalpana received a severe electric shock and collapsed immediately.

The incident took place in Bhagyoday Nagar around 5:30 pm, prompting an emergency response from the fire brigade. Despite their efforts, Kalpana was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials from MSEDCL have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the electrocution. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by waterlogged streets during heavy rainfall.
