Tragedy struck in Wagholi, Pune, in the early hours of the morning as a dumper truck plowed into a group of people sleeping on the footpath near Kesnand Phata. The horrifying incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two young children and their uncle. Six others were seriously injured, with three of them in critical condition.
The driver of the dumper, identified as Gajanan Shankar Totre, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He has since been arrested by the Pune police and is facing charges of culpable homicide.
The victims have been identified as Vishal Vinod Pawar, Vaibhavi Ritesh Pawar, and Vaibhav Ritesh Pawar. The injured individuals include Janaki Dinesh Pawar, Rinisha Vinod Pawar, Roshan Shashadu Bhosale, Nagesh Nivrutti Pawar, Darshan Sanjay Vairal, and Alisha Vinod Pawar.
