Tragedy struck in Mulshi taluka as two Fergusson College students lost their lives in a drowning incident at the Khamboli barrage. The victims, identified as Raj Sambhaji Patil and Ojas Ananda Katapurkar, both 22 years old, were part of a group of nine students visiting the area.
It was reported that while walking on the farm embankment, five students accidentally fell into a pit. Despite efforts to rescue them, Patil and Katapurkar sadly did not make it out alive and drowned in the water. The remaining three students were successfully pulled to safety by their peers.
The bodies of the two students were later recovered by the fire brigade and taken to a government hospital in Paud for autopsies. The entire Fergusson College community is in mourning following this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time.
