The students, hailing from Latur and studying in Wagholi, were unfortunately caught in the collision that claimed the lives of two of them. The third student was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The truck driver, identified as Shyambabu Ramphal Gautam, was headed towards Chandannagar when he crashed into the motorcycle at the Jakat Naka traffic signal. The impact was so severe that all three riders were thrown from the vehicle.
One of the deceased has been named as Adil Sheikh, while the identities of the other victims are still being verified. Gautam has been taken into custody by the police and is undergoing a medical examination at Sassoon Hospital.
