Hey there, folks! It’s a sad day in Pune as a tragic accident unfolded on Varandha Ghat along the Bhor-Mahad Road. A car carrying a group of young individuals plunged into a 100-foot-deep gorge, resulting in the death of a 22-year-old man and leaving eight others with severe injuries.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning near Umbarde village. The Eco car was on its way from Mahad to Bhor when the driver lost control, sending the vehicle off the road and into the gorge.

Local rescue teams and the police sprang into action, swiftly rescuing the injured passengers and retrieving the car from the gorge. Among the injured were Mangesh, Ashish, Siddharth, Saurabh, Ganesh, Amol, Yashraj, and Akash, all of whom were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

One survivor, Abhishek, shared chilling details of the journey, revealing that the group was returning from Ganapatipule after a religious trip. Despite warnings to rest and resume the journey in the morning, the driver insisted on driving through the night due to prior commitments.

As dawn broke, tragedy struck as the car plummeted into the valley while everyone was asleep. The group suffered injuries and tried to wake the driver to no avail. In the darkness, they managed to climb back up the valley to safety.

Authorities are now investigating the cause of the accident as the community mourns the loss of a young life and prays for the speedy recovery of those injured. Stay safe out on the roads, everyone.
