A tragic accident occurred at Nagargaon Phata on the Shirur-Satara Highway, claiming the life of one man and leaving another heavily injured. The incident took place in front of Annapurna Hotel yesterday, on August 5.
The deceased individual has been identified as Manojkumar Sonyabapu Auti, a 32-year-old resident of Ralegan-Siddhi, Taluka Parner, District Ahmednagar. The injured individual is Sagar Raosaheb Bhujbal, who hails from Kopargaon, Ahmednagar. A police complaint was filed by Labhesh Ganpatrao Auti in this regard.
According to the complaint, the police have lodged a case against the container driver, Datta Changdeo Sonawane. It is reported that Sonawane was driving the container (NL 01 AE 8252) at a high speed on the highway when he collided with a Swift car (MH 12 HZ 7577) being driven by Manojkumar Auti.
The impact of the collision was fatal, resulting in the immediate death of Manojkumar Auti and causing serious injuries to Sagar Bhujbal. Bhujbal was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment and is currently under medical care. Police Inspector Jotiram Gunjawate is leading the investigation into the case.
