In a shocking turn of events, the grandfather of the teenager involved in the deadly Porsche Taycan crash in Kalyaninagar has come forward to reveal that he had given the car keys to his grandson after consulting with his son. The teenager had reportedly planned to attend a party to celebrate the completion of their Standard XII exams.

The Yerawada police are currently investigating the car crash, while the crime branch is handling a second FIR against the teenager’s father, a prominent builder. The father is accused of providing the vehicle to his son despite knowing he lacked a driving license and proper training. The FIR also names the owner and staff members of two pubs for allegedly serving alcohol to minors.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amol Zende, the grandfather claimed ignorance about the potential consequences of giving the car keys to his minor grandson. The family’s driver provided critical details, stating that the teenager drove the car to the pubs and later insisted on driving while intoxicated.

The tragic accident occurred when the teenager hit a motorcycle from behind, resulting in the deaths of two software engineers. The crime branch has seized the builder’s smartphone and digital video recorders from his bungalow and other locations, and the builder has been detained for further questioning.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of underage driving and the importance of responsible alcohol service. The authorities are taking strict action against all those involved in the tragic accident.
