So, it looks like there’s some exciting news on the horizon for air travelers in Maharashtra! A recent meeting in Mumbai discussed the tendering process for a new airline service. The tenders were floated on January 31, with a deadline for submission on February 21. Once the bids are opened, we’ll know which airline will be operating the service.

Before the tendering process began, MADC held a pre-bid meeting with interested airlines. Two companies have shown interest in operating flights on these routes, but their names haven’t been revealed yet.

MADC will provide Viability Gap Funding (VGF) to support the selected airline. The criteria for selection include reliability, safety, and service quality. Airlines with a good track record and minimal accident history will be preferred. The chosen airline will offer affordable fares with quality service.

The new air connectivity between Solapur, Pune, and Mumbai is expected to make travel more convenient for passengers. Stay tuned for more details once the tenders are opened later this month!
